Hard to find flying geese bakelite pin on thick slab
What a wonderful find! This unique pin can be seen in a few of the Bakelite books but rarely will you see it in person. It is a spectacular piece of investment jewelry meant to be cherished and shown off. There are two Bakelite flying geese that are resin washed and hand painted around the neck, beak, eyes and lower feathers. They are three-dimensional and very life-like as the detail is remarkable. The geese are riveted onto the thick wooden slab that also helps date this to an early piece of Bakelite. It is extremely well made and has normal wear on the beak. The pin measures 3 1/4" across, 2" deep and 1/2" thick. The geese are 1/4" thick! It is in excellent condition with no chips, fleabites or cracks and guaranteed to be vintage Bakelite. vintagejewelryonline.com
