This exceptional French gold-plated locket is one of the finest ones I have seen particularly as it suspends from an equally ornate book chain necklace.The locket has tremendous elegance and grandeur. The design has scrolls, embellishments, and is deeply molded and quite stunning. The word FRECRION is spelled on the front that is probably the family name. There is a shield with leaves on the back that resembles a family crest. The locket opens and shuts with a snap and contains two compartments, one that has the original glass and one that does not. The purple matting is velvet. The locket is 1 1/4andquot; tall, 1andquot; wide and over 1/4andquot; deep.The book chain necklace has two link styles that alternate.
